A 19-year-old city man was wounded in the hand on Belmont Avenue early Thursday evening, according to police.
Police said the victim was walking on Belmont Avenue after coming out of an area business. He was on Belmont close to North 8th Street at about 8:20 p.m. when at least one armed suspect began firing a weapon close to the intersection striking the victim in the hand, said police.
Police said the 19-year-old is in stable condition at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. He was taken to the hospital after officers responding to gunfire in the area located him with a gunshot wound.
