Two brothers charged in Paterson shooting that killed one, wounded another

Two city brothers have been charged with murder and attempted murder for their alleged involvement in 2015 shooting on Rosa Parks Boulevard that killed one man and wounded another, said police on Tuesday afternoon.

Jamere Williams, 24, and Nygee Williams, 22, both presently held at the Passaic County Jail, were charged with murder for the death of 24-year-old John Williams. Police said the slain man was shot at about 10:20 p.m. on Rosa Parks Boulevard and Warren Street on July 12th, 2015. A second man, 26-year-old, was wounded in the incident, said police.

The two brothers were charged with attempted murder for allegedly wounding the 26-year-old, said police.

Detectives from the Paterson Police and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an extensive investigation into the shooting and charged Jamere Williams on Friday of last week and Nygee Williams on Tuesday.

Both brothers were also charged with weapons offenses.
