Paterson man shot in the leg in city’s fourth shooting

A 23-year-old city man was shot in the leg on Auburn Street on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the victim was shot at about 4 p.m. on Auburn Street close to Godwin Avenue. The victim was walking on Auburn Street when shots were fired and he was struck, said police.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. He is in stable condition, said police. Detectives are canvassing the area and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing, said police.

This is the city’s fourth shooting in 2017. In a shooting on Monday, 30-year-old man Dennis Pride was killed outside of the American Fried Chicken on Broadway.
