A 33-year-old Bergenfield man suffering from an opioid overdose on Auburn and Fair streets was revived by police officers using anti-overdose medicine Naloxone, according to authorities.

Police officers found the victim unresponsive with slow pulse, breathing slowly, and displaying blue lips at around 1:43 p.m. on January 10, 2016, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said. He was administered a dose of Narcan spray into the nose to counteract the overdose. He quickly became alert and responsive, authorities said.

Authorities transferred his care to local emergency medical services, authorities said. This incident is the third drug overdose in Passaic County in 2017 that required Naloxone deployment.
