Police looking for third suspect in Paterson gas station murder

Authorities are looking for a third suspect in the 1st Avenue gas station shooting that claimed the life of a Fair Lawn man.

Alex Colon, 28-year-old, is being sought out for the murder of 57-year-old Ruskin Magamedov. Colon is described as a Hispanic male, 150 pounds, brown eyes, black hair, and 5’4”.

Detectives from the Paterson Police and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office determined Colon to be perpetrator of the murder and robbery through the course of their investigation. He has been charged with murder, robbery, and weapons possession, said police.

Police have arrested Dennis Barrett, 21, of Paterson, and Jorge Martinez, 21, of Garfield for their role in the incident which happened at about 6 p.m. on 1st Avenue and McLean Boulevard on Jan. 23rd, 2017.

Barrett and Martinez were charged with first-degree felony murder, robbery; second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Police are asking anyone with information about Colon’s whereabouts to contact detective sergeant Dean Barrone, detectives Ed DelValle, Ralph Fermin, Kelvin Matos, or Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office detective Sabrina McCoy at 973-321-1120.

Anyone who sees Colon is asked not to approach, but to call police.
