Paterson man suffers graze wound to the head at Montgomery Street park shooting

A 26-year-old city man suffered a graze wound to the head at the basketball court area of Wrigley Park on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the victim related that he was involved in an altercation at the park when someone fired a shot grazing him to the head. At this time it appears the victim was near the basketball courts in the park when he was confronted by a group of males, and a physical altercation ensued, said police.

The victim managed to get himself to a residence on Harrison Street from which firefighters transported him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center at about 4:55 p.m., according to police

Police said the victim was treated and released from hospital.

This incident is Paterson’s 10th shooting in 2017.
