A man was killed in an early Tuesday morning shooting on Broadway, according to police.

The man was shot and killed on Broadway and Madison Avenue at about 2 a.m. Police responded to the McDonald’s on Broadway on report of a gunshot victim.

The victim, who was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment by ambulance, succumbed to his injuries.

Police director Jerry Speziale confirmed it was homicide. “It is under investigation,” he said on Tuesday morning.

This is Paterson’s 5th homicide in 2017. Four of the victims were killed in shootings and 1 in a stabbing incident.
