Police charged 20 people on various drug related offenses in their weekly drug sweep throughout the city, according to police director Jerry Speziale.
429 glassines of heroin, 159 baggies of crack-cocaine, 38 baggies of marijuana, 5 knotted bags of marijuana, 26 baggies of powered cocaine, 19 Xanax pills, and 8 Ecstasy pills were seized from March 21st through 27th, 2017, according to police.
Police also seized $1,680 in suspected drug money. City residents arrested were Manuel C. Valencia-Perez, 34, of Main Street; Rafael F. Diaz, 28, of Rockland Street; Roger L. Jacobs, 21, of Lafayette Street; Bria S. McFarlane, 19, of Straight Street; Kyla J. Seegers, 20, of East 37th Street; Charlie Rollins, 26, of River Street; Qayyum Montgomery, 37, of Grand Street; Felix E. Edwards, 50, of East 26th Street; Steven Colon, 25, of Butler Street; Roberto A. Acosta, 20, of North Main Street; Nahji McClan, 19, of 20th Avenue; Robert W. Frater, 19, of East 33rd Street; Horace B. Palmer, 20, of Park Avenue; Laricka M. Robinson, 19, of North 1st Street; Demetrius T. Taylor, 25, of North 1st Street; Ihamir White, 23, of Jefferson Street; William O. Batista, 29, of Straight Street; and Darius B. Scott, 19, of Main Street.
Police also arrested Morgan T. Dimick, 30, of West Nyack, NY; and Maria Klimovitsky, 31, of Wayne.
Valencia-Perez and Diaz were arrested at 402 Main Street on March 21st, 2017. Diaz had 7 baggies of crack-cocaine and 47 glassines of heroin, said police.
Diaz allegedly sold 7 glassines of heroin to Valencia-Perez. He was charged with eight drug offenses while Valencia-Perez was charged with possession.
Jacobs, McFarlane, and Seegers were arrested on 12th Avenue and East 23rd Street on the same day.
Police said Jacobs had 3 baggies of marijuana. He sold 2 baggies to McFarlane and Seegers.
Jacobs was charged with six drug charges including for having drug paraphernalia. $540 in drug money was taken from him, said police.
Rollins was caught with 7 baggies of crack-cocaine and 8 Ecstasy pills at 435 East 27th Street on March 22nd, 2017. He was charged with six drug offenses, said police.
Montgomery and Edwards were arrested on March 23rd, 2017 at 440 East 26th Street.
Montgomery had 1 baggie of marijuana, 44 baggies of crack-cocaine, and 36 glassines of heroin, said police. $196 in drug money was seized from him. He was charged with seven drug offenses.
Edwards allegedly had 6 glassines of heroin and 2 baggies of heroine. He was charged with possession.
Colon was caught with 5 knotted bags of marijuana at 17 3rd Avenue on the same day, said police. He was charged with four drug offenses. $195 in drug money was seized from him.
Acosta, McClan, Frater, and Palmer were arrested on March 24th, 2017 at Spring Street and 20th Avenue.
All four were charged with having 32 baggies of marijuana. Police seized $235 each from Acosta and McClan.
Dimick, Robinson, and Taylor were arrested at 80 North 1st Street on March 27th, 2017.
Robinson and Taylor were charged with eight drug offenses each. Police said both men had 66 glassines of heroin and 2 baggies of crack-coacine. They sold 20 glassines of heroin to Dimick, said police.
$119 was seized from Robinson and $160 from Taylor, said police. Dimick was charged with possession.
Klimovitsky and White were arrested at North Main and Jefferson Streets. Klimovitsky and White had 5 baggies of crack-cocaine.
Police charged White with three additional drug charges.
Batista and Scott were arrested at 19 Park Avenue. Batista was charged with loitering to commit a drug offense.
Scott was charged with 16 drug offenses. He allegedly had 94 baggies of crack-cocaine, 274 glassines of heroin, 26 baggies of powered cocaine, and 19 Xanax pills.
“The Paterson Narcotics Division continues to battle the drug war daily in our goal of making a drug free city,” said Speziale.
