Activist praises school board for voting down budget

As an education activist, concerned parent and community advocate I want to take a moment to thank the Paterson school board for hearing the cries of the community and unanimously voting down the current budget which fails to provide a thorough and efficient education. That is not only a breach of the constitution, but a breach against our children and their education.

The board took a stand last night and made it clear to the superintendent that business as usual will no longer be tolerated. I hope the position the board took last night will be a reflection of the decisions they make going forward.

I just want the board to know that as long as they back our children, I will back them. Let’s move forward together and make it better for our future (children). We all know the state-appointed superintendent will most likely send in the budget as is. But at least the 9 commissioners won’t have their names attached to this disaster. Now, the fight continues. And we all must join in and fight on behalf of our children.
