A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were wounded in a Saturday night shooting on Governor Street as the spate of weekend shootings in Paterson continued, according to police.

Police said both city teens were on Governor and Carroll Streets at about 9:20 p.m. when multiple shots were fired and both were struck. The 15-year-old was struck in the torso and the 18-year-old suffered a graze wound to the arm.

The 15-year-old was located at the scene of the shooting by police; the 18-year-old had himself transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

This incident brings the number of people touched by gun violence this weekend to five. 1 man was killed and 2 were wounded in separate shootings early Saturday morning.

Police have been dispersing crowds and clearing corners to prevent the next shooting. “While we have seen an uptick in violence, we will tirelessly focus on those responsible and the deliver swift and decisive justice,” said police director Jerry Speziale.

Police ask anyone with information to contact detectives Christopher Ravaleese or Joehan Suarez of the Paterson Police Ceasfire Unit at 973-321-1342 or anonymously send information via PatersonPD.com.
