Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze at a dye factory on Paterson Street on Sunday afternoon.

Fire at the vacant four-story Passaic Color and Chemical Company building on the corner of Paterson and Harrison streets (28-36 Paterson Street) came in at around 3:10 p.m. and was extinguished within 30 minutes.

There were no displacements or injuries reported. However, several firefighters reportedly were covered in dye and needed to be decontaminated.

The Passaic Color and Chemical Company makes solvent, basic, acid, and vat dyes, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. It is a subsidiary of Royce Associates.
