Police conducted a citywide drug and prostitution sweep on Friday night leading to 38 arrests, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

Speziale said the sweep focused on trouble spots that have been the subject of complaints from residents throughout the city. He said both johns and street walkers were arrested during the crackdown.

Police also seized heroin and marijuana during the operation.

“We will continue doing these sweeps as often as possible,” said Speziale.
