Wayne man wounded in early morning Paterson shooting

A 24-year-old Wayne man was wounded in an early Thursday morning shooting that followed a physical altercation, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

Police said the dispute between the two men started at 3:30 a.m. on Clinton and North 6th Streets. It escalated into a physical altercation, said police. The suspect produced a handgun and fired at the victim striking him in the leg.

The victim’s two associates took him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for medical care.
