Elizabeth man wounded, Paterson woman assaulted in 10th Avenue burglary, shooting

A 37-year-old man from Elizabeth was wounded in a shooting on 10th Avenue late Saturday afternoon, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said a 46-year-old Paterson woman was also assaulted in the same incident. Police responded to 447 10th Avenue on report of a burglary at around 3:50 p.m.
The female victim met and directed officers to a basement area that had the male victim with non-fatal gunshot wound inside, authorities said.
Both man and woman were taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
