Paterson police arrest 3, seize 7,600 packets of heroin, 410 Ecstasy pills in Park Avenue raid

Three men were arrested and large quantities of drugs were seized in a raid at a Park Avenue apartment building, said police director Jerry Speziale on Wednesday morning.

Police seized 7,600 glassines of heroin, 410 Ecstasy pills, and 45 baggies of crack-coacine. The director said police also confiscated 300 grams of raw heroin, 2 knotted containing 83 grams of crack-cocaine, 6 baggies or 206 grams of cocaine.

45 baggies of marijuana was also seized, said the director. Police arrested city residents Rafael E. Collazo, 43, of Park Avenue; William Hodges, 36, of East 18th Street; and Edward Infante, 38, of Brooklyn, NY.

Infante has been charged with 17 drug offenses. Among them maintaining a drug production facility and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Edward and Hodges were charged with three drug offenses. Speziale said police took $1,489 in drug money from Collazo. $502 was taken from Edward and $187 from Hodges.

Police raided 217 Park Avenue at 8:34 p.m. on Tuesday. Police learned about the spot in the course of investigating drug dealing in the vicinity of Park Ave and East 18th Street.

“This is a significant raid, which continues to dismantle and disrupt illegal drug sales and the organizations responsible for the distribution,” said Speziale.
