Paterson charter school administrator loses license after stealing $75,000

The former administrator of the Community Charter School of Paterson who was charged with stealing $75,000 from her employer lost her school administrator’s license.

Kathleen E. Patacsil of Lodi lost her school business administrator certificate on September 15, 2017. She was first awarded the certificate in 2010.

Patacsil pleaded guilty to theft by deception on May 22, 2017. She was accused of diverting $75,000 from the Community Charter School of Paterson. She worked as the chief operating officer/board secretary and was in charge of overseeing payroll. In 2014 and 2015 she used the funds for her personal benefit, authorities said at the time.

On July 17, 2017, Patacsil was sentenced to drug court, according to the state.
