Paterson police nab nine in East 26th Street drug raid

The police raided a house on East 26th Street arresting nine people on drug charges and seizing 2 pounds of marijuana and 0.22 pound of powdered cocaine on Tuesday, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

Police arrested Erik Quinones, 21; Katherine Castillo, 18; Leonordo Sancho, 30; Leyder Rivera, 21; Angeleen Mantilla, 21; Sleydin Rivera, 23; Leyde Rivera, 51; a 17-year-old; and Altagracia Soto, 76, all of Paterson, on various drug offenses.

Authorities charged Quinones, Castillo, Sancho with marijuana possession while Mantilla, Rivera S, Rivera L, Soto L, Soto A were charged with eight drug offenses.

Leyder was charged with 14 drug offenses. Authorities seized $12,745 in cash from Leyder and another $1,905 from Mantilla.

In total $14,650 in drug money was seized during the raid at 927 East 26th Street. Police raided the house after getting information the location was being used for drug dealing, authorities said.
