A 10-month old boy abducted by his father from a Van Houten Street house on Wednesday morning has been found unharmed, according to police.

Police director Jerry Speziale said the infant was dropped off by his father, George Berry, 30, Paterson, at the boy’s grandmother’s house on 12th Avenue at about 10:30 a.m.

“The child appears to be unharmed,” said Speziale. He said the boy will be checked out at a local hospital.

Speziale said Berry allegedly kicked in the door of the house on Van Houten Street between Summer and Carroll Streets in violation of a restraining order at about 7 a.m. He allegedly physically assaulted the mother and abducted the boy, according to police.

Police quickly issued an amber alert for the boy involving the New Jersey State Police and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Speziale pleaded with Berry through the media to drop the boy off at a safe location.

“I implored, if the father was listening, to please drop the child off at a hospital, firehouse, or police station. Drop him off at a safe haven, so we at least know the child is okay,” said Speziale.

Speziale said the father hasn’t been apprehended.
