Driver dead after car flipped in Route 20 single-vehicle crash in Paterson

A man died early Thursday morning after his vehicle struck the center divider of Route 20 and flipped over on the highway, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name. He was in a BMW at around 3:30 a.m. on Route 20 South near the intersection of Park and 17th avenues when the crash occurred.
Police said the crash involved a single vehicle. The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the investigation remain ongoing.
The early morning crash closed Route 20 for more than five hours.
