A fire erupted at a vacant house on Pearl Street early Sunday morning, destroying much of the 1.5-story building.

Firefighters found the building at 57 Pearl Street fully involved at about 1:22 a.m., said deputy fire chief Pablo Del Valle.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries, said the deputy chief. He said the fire was brought under control at 2:39 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
