The man killed in a violent crash on Route 20 early Wednesday morning has been identified as 39-year-old Dane Johnson of Paterson, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Johnson was operating a 2003 Dodge Caravan that went off the roadway near East 33rd Street and crashed into a pole at around 4:33 a.m., authorities said.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
