Paterson police arrest three people, seize assortment of pills, cocaine, marijuana

Three people were arrested and an assortment of pills, hundreds of baggies of cocaine, and marijuana was seized in a drug bust on Monday, according to police director Jerry Speziale.

Victor Melecio, 27, of Paterson; Maya Jaber, 38, of Bushkill, PA; Isamaria Bonilla, 28, of Paterson, were charged with numerous drug offenses.

Melecio and Jaber were arrested at 3:45 p.m. at 95 6th Avenue. Police charged Melecio with 34 drug offenses.

Jaber was charged with two drug offenses.

Detectives then raided Melecio’s home at the second floor of 178 Jefferson Street. Police arrested Bonilla at Melecio’s residence.

Both Melecio and Bonilla were charged with 34 drug offenses.

Detectives seized 46 Oxycodone, 38 Xanax, 8 Percocet, 20 Endocet pills, 80 Suboxone film strips, 8 baggies of MDMA, 43 baggies of marijuana, and 364 baggies of cocaine, police said.

Police confiscated $296 in cash from Melecio.

“The pressure will only intensify as we move forward to reduce the flow of illegal drugs in our city,” Speziale said.
