"Cross at the green not in between. " Avoid that rundown feeling.

I hope the two guys are okay. That being said…That's why I don't like to drive in downtown Paterson. Drivers have to go 5 mph and have eyes all around their heads. Many people ( often entire families) just run out into the street. Many people take advantage of the rule (is it a law?) that Pedestrians have the right of way at all times! Even when some careless person just runs into the street without looking, then they look at the driver like it's surprise to see a car in the street. Children are generally more cautious than adults when crossing streets. It's a miracle that many more people aren't injured or killed downtown.

It's the local method of hitting the lottery.
Wait till the "victim" finds out that the driver only has liability and has no assets to sue for,
so the only money they can get is from the pliga fund which is on the car insurance and pays a max of $15K
