A city man was found shot to death on Godwin Avenue early Saturday morning, making him Paterson’s first homicide of 2020.

Police found the victim, Jacquese Mills, 31-year-old, with apparent gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk outside of 59 Godwin Avenue. Police had responded to report of a shooting on Godwin Avenue and Summer Street at around 5:22 a.m.

Authorities continue to investigate the homicide, police said. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Paterson Police Detective Bureau at 973-321-1120.
