Paterson man hurt in Pennington Street shooting

A city man was injured in a shooting on Sunday morning, making him the third victim of gun violence in Paterson this weekend.

Police responded to report of a shooting on Pennington Street and Park Avenue at around 7:56 a.m. to find the victim, 35-year-old, was already being treated at the scene for a gunshot wound by emergency medical personnel.

The victim was rushed to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for further treatment. His injuries were non-fatal, police said.

Police located a crime scene on Pennington Street and 17th Avenue, authorities said.

On Saturday, a 21-year-old man was injured in a shooting on 15th Avenue and a 31-year-old man was killed on Godwin Avenue.
