A trio of supermarkets have curved out senior citizen-only shopping hours amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, according to mayor Andre Sayegh.

Sayegh said the effort is aimed at curtailing the spread of Covid-19. Senior citizens are more likely to die from contracting the virus. Two of the three New Jersey coronavirus deaths were senior citizens.

Supermarkets to curve out hours for senior citizens are:

C-Town Supermarket
7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
444 20th Avenue
Paterson, NJ 07513

Golden Mango
8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
200 Broadway
Paterson, NJ 07501

Universal Supermarket
8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
494 Ellison St.
Paterson, NJ 07501.

Sayegh, who has placed Paterson under lockdown to halt the spread of the virus since Monday evening, urged seniors and other residents to practice social distancing.
