Judgement Postponed on 2nd Ward Council Seat

Today was supposed to be the day, when the superior court judge, Thomas Brogan would finally decide who the councilman for 2nd ward is — Mohammed Akhtaruzzaman or Aslon Goow –, but the ruling date has changed at last minute.

Mr Goow claims his election opponent did not meet the legal criteria to run, and therefore his victory is null and void; on the other hand Mr Akhtaruzzaman says the whole thing is a misunderstanding and he did, indeed meet all the legal requirements to run for office. The decision is up to the judge, as to which man gets to hang about city hall defending the interest of 2nd ward.

Mr Brogan will not pass his judgement today, instead it has been postponed for Wednesday Sept. 12, 2012. An aide to the judge cited schedule conflict as the reason for this sudden, unexpected, and last minute change;  and it had nothing to do with the case.
