Woman Beaten And Robbed By Facebook Friend

A local Paterson woman, 29-years-old, arranged to meet a man named “Steve”, who she met online through Facebook; when she visited him for the meeting, he called and said he was in his backyard; when she made her way into the yard she was punched in the face, choked by the throat, and robbed, reported a national newspaper.
Her purse was stolen which police later found at a nearby street. The whole scene unfolded in the Borough of Carteret, NJ about 30-miles drive from Paterson.
The victim was taken to a local hospital; police have yet to find the suspect.
