During the early hours of Friday, a man, 37-years-old, was shot near Rosa Parks Boulevard and Ellison Street after he refused to be victimized by a robber, reported a local paper. A gunman approached the 37-year-old and demanded his possessions, the man refused and a shot was fired, wounding the victim in the right leg.

The gunman took off in the victim’s 1993 Toyota Camry.

The wounded man was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center. The robber is described as a skinny Hispanic male, about 5’5 – 5’6 height. Police are looking for the suspect.
