Chain Snatcher Nabbed By Off-Duty Cop

An off-duty Paterson cop arrested a chain snatcher near Main Street on Sundayreported a local small-time paper. Eric Cummings, 20-year-old, assaulted a woman and had stolen a chain from her earlier during the day; police had a description of the man but had yet to arrest him.
Jose Valentin, a city police officer, saw the assailant and matched the description in his mind, then sprang to action.
Mr Valentin arrested the robber and took him into custody.
