A man was walking to work at around 5:30am when he was shot 4 times by a bicyclist near the corner of Lawrence and Mercer Streets.
The 30-year-old man, an employee of the Department of Public Works, worked as a part-time recycler.
After being shot, the 30-year-old managed to signal a nearby cab which transported him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
It has been indicated that the man in question had a previous criminal history, but was attempting to turn his life around by giving up his old ways, and the shooter was likely someone he once knew.
Police have yet to find the individual responsible.
