A Paterson woman whose home was raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2008 in search of illegal immigrants won a lawsuit against the federal agency.

Ana Galindo, was threatened by federal agents, seeking identification; she provided them with her New Jersey issued drivers license which was not enough for the agents, so they began threatening her, and held a gun to the chest of her 9-year-old son.

The agents did not have a warrant for the raid, and it was later determined that they had raided the wrong house.

Ms Galindo, along with other residents, will receive a total of $295,000 — her share of the settlement if divided evenly will be a sum of $36,875.
