After locals complained of seeing unusual cars and odd faces in certain areas of Paterson the Passaic County Sheriff’s Narcotics detectives set up surveillance that yielded eight arrests—two drug dealers and six buyers.

The detectives listened to complaints made by residents and came across information that led to the arrests of two drug dealers. Mario Rosignano, 31, of Kearney Street was found in his apartment with over 5 pounds of marijuana and 1.2 ounces of cocaine. Equipment used to make drugs such as cutting agents, scales, and $500 worth of drug money was seized. Mr Rosignano was charged with possession, distribution, and intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine. Laura Beck, the other dealer, 44, of Jefferson and North 6th Streets was charged with two counts of possession, distribution, and intent to distribute crack cocaine and heroin. Both were only a thousand feet away from nearby schools.

All six drug buyers were not from Paterson. The youngest of them was a 17-year-old girl who was with her friend Jeffrey Wichot, 22, both were arrested near Jefferson and North 6th Streets. The two were from Wayne and charged with possession of heroin.

Richard Ward, 25, of Butler, was found buying heroin on Spruce and Grand Street. Mr Ward was charged with possession of heroin; due to prior drug charges and failure to appear in court he will be locked up without bail.

Two from Pompton Lakes, Simone Greco and Joseph B Avalone, both 21, were charged with possession of heroin on Auburn Street and Broadway during a motor vehicle stop. Anthony Huarachi, 30, of Elmwood Park was also arrested during a motor vehicle stop on West Broadway and Memorial Drive. Mr Huarachi, however was released and is pending a court visitation.
