Barbara Buono, the Democratic candidate for New Jersey governor, is making a campaign stop in Paterson later this morning to court Latino voters in the city.

Buono will stand alongside Hispanic leaders to discuss issues that affect Latino voters. “Buono will host a press conference alongside a group of Latino leaders to kick-off Latino Heritage Month and outline her Latino policy platform,” read a statement released by her campaign.

The campaign says she will discuss issues that most impact Latin-Americans like raising the minimum wage and tuition equality. “Buono’s plan calls for passing tuition equality, raising the minimum wage, restoring the Earned Income Tax Credit and investing in minority-owned businesses,” according to the campaign.

The conference is set to take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Pan-American Park located at 460 20th Avenue. With the candidate will be Alex Blanco, the mayor of Passaic; Nellie Pou, State senator representing the 35th legislative district; and a number of other big time Latino leaders.
