Police have arrested two individuals: a teenager and an adult, in connection to the shooting that took place early Sunday morning on Highland Street leaving the victim in critical condition.

The first suspect, a 15-year-old, was arrested at a local high school, after police figured out he was one of the shooters, who left a wounded 33-year-old man – after he was shot multiple times — on the sidewalk at the intersection of Sparrow and Highland Street on Sunday morning, at around 1:55 a.m.

The second suspect: Yaquin Perry, 28-year-old, was arrested early in the morning on Tuesday, and charged with attempted murder.

The teenager is being held at an Essex County juvenile detention center, while Perry has been set on bail, and is being held in police lockup.

The victim, who was wounded and left to die by the two suspects apparently engaged in an argument with a group of individuals in the area which triggered the incident. The victim remains in hospital recovering from the gunshot wounds.
