A teenager and an adult were wounded during an early Sunday morning shooting on Park Avenue, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The first victim, 17-year-old, was standing outside of a building on Park Avenue near East 25th Street, at around 3:33 a.m. on Sunday, when more than one suspect released bullets, injuring the teen. The teenager was struck in leg.

The second victim, 21-year-old, was near the same location, when a bullet struck him in the “facial area,” according to police. Both individuals were attending a house party at the location of the incident.

“Upon the officers arrival they discovered evidence of a shooting, but could not find a shooting victim,” according to police. Both victim managed to transport themselves to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center via private vehicle for treatment.

The Sunday morning incident was part of a large number of shootings that plagued the city during the Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday, near Jefferson Street, a 15-year-old was shot multiple times, and left hospitalized. During the same day, a 56-year-old, who was working near Summer Street, was robbed and shot in the back. On Sunday, two hours earlier, two men were wounded on Straight Street: Oneil Peart, 37-year-old, an Essex County Sheriff’s Officer, and a 22-year-old city resident.
