Library to hold Obamacare information event on Friday

obamacare-paterson-info-session

The city’s library on Broadway is hosting an information session on the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to a flyer issued by the library.

Experts with knowledge of the healthcare law will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance to residents wishing to sign up on the online healthcare market place.

The event sponsored and organized by the Northwest New Jersey Community Action Partnership, a non-profit anti-poverty organization, St. Paul’s Community Development Corporation, another anti-poverty organization, and the Danforth Memorial Library, historic library building on Broadway, will allow residents to find out whether they qualify for subsidies offered on the exchange to low income individuals.

As New Jersey is one of the number of states that are expanding their Medicaid program, experts at the event will be able to inform residents whether they are eligible to receive healthcare under the State’s Medicaid expansion.

Applications and information sheets will be provided for attendees.
