28-year-old shot in the shoulder on North 4th Street

An man with gunshot wound was found on the street in Barnert Place and North 4th Street during the evening hours of Tuesday.

The victim, 28-year-old, was walking home, at around 10:37 p.m. on Tuesday near Barnert Place and North 4th Street, when a man approached him asking, “What’s up?”

The victim informed him on what he was doing in the area: he was walking home. The suspect passed, and shot the victim on the left shoulder.

The city’s gunfire detection system failed to pickup on the shooting incident; however when police responded to the call made by the victim, who said he was shot in Barnert Place, they were able to locate the victim and the crime scene.

As of midnight police were canvasing the area seeking a suspect. Police rushed the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment, where the victim was treated and released.
