A Direct TV contractor who sexually assaulted an eight-year-old last summer has been arraigned in the court earlier today, announced the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Arcadio “Junior” Nova, 38-year-old, a resident of New York and the city, was indicted today before Marilyn C. Clark, a superior court judge. Nova has been indicted on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Luring or Enticing a Child, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Nova was in the city home of the child’s mother installing television equipment on in the summer when the incident happened. “This alleged incident occurred on July 3, 2013 in the stairwell of the child’s apartment building, while Mr. Nova was preparing to install TV into her mother’s apartment,” according to the prosecutor’s office.

Nova who failed to register as a sex offender, pleaded not guilty on Monday. “Mr. Nova entered not guilty pleas to the crimes contained in the Indictment,” said the prosecutor’s office.

Nova was arrested on July 16th, 2013, almost two weeks after the incident, after the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit conducted an investigation.
