A suspect has been identified in a shooting incident that happened three weeks ago on Albion Avenue, announced the Paterson Police Department on Friday.

Kenneth Williams, 22-year-old, a city resident, was the shooter in the March 10th, 2014 incident that left an 18-year-old wounded near the Totowa Bait & Tackle Shop in the intersection of Albion and Totowa Avenues in the relatively safe Totowa section of the city.

“As a result of an investigation conducted by Detective Carlos Charon and Prosecutor’s Detective Ricardo Ferreira, a 22 year old city resident has been identified as the alleged shooter in this incident,” said Patrick Murray, detective with the Ceasefire Unit.

Police say Williams’ motive for the shooting arose from a feud between the two men. “The motive appears to have been an ongoing conflict between victim and suspect,” said Murray.

Williams allegedly shot the victim numerous times in the torso, according to police. Murray said the victim is “Still hospitalized and recovering” from the gunshot wounds.

The suspect is known for frequenting Union and Totowa Avenues, Henry Street, and Belmont Avenue areas.

The suspect has not yet been apprehended and anyone with information regarding William’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
