25-year-old shot multiple times outside Rosa Parks Fried Chicken

A city man sustained multiple gunshot wounds during a shooting early Wednesday morning near Rosa Parks Boulevard, according to the Paterson Police Department.

The victim, 25-year-old, was in the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard, outside Rosa Parks Fried Chicken, at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday when shots rang out, police said. Officers responded after receiving alerts of gunfire in the area.

“On arrival, officers located a 25 year-old male victim lying on the sidewalk on Hamilton Avenue just off Rosa Parks Boulevard,” said Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit. “The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.”

The victim suffered injuries to the upper and lower extremities of his body.

Murray said the victim is in stable condition at the hospital. Police have not released additional details of the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
