Buyer and drug dealer arrested in 2nd Ward

A city man and a Montville woman have been brought into police custody after detectives spotted the two engage in a hand to hand drug transaction in the city’s 2nd Ward on Tuesday evening, announced Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Kristine Gallo, 47, and Gilbert Feliciano, 32, were arrested on Tuesday at around 7:30 p.m. when officers from the sheriff’s office observed Gallo exit a 2014 Volkswagen Passat to approach Feliciano.

Gallo approached Feliciano’s 2006 Toyota Camry to purchase what detectives observed as narcotic. “After a hand to hand drug transaction, Gallo returned to her vehicle and both vehicles left the scene,” Berdnik said.

Detectives pulled over Feliciano’s vehicle inside of which “numerous baggies of both powder and crack-coacine” was recovered, Berdnik said.

At the same time, detectives attempted to pull over Gallo’s vehicle, but she attempted elude officers by speeding out of the area. “Gallo accelerated and refused to pull her vehicle over,” Berdnik said. “Detectives were finally able to get Gallo to bring her vehicle to a stop on Totowa Road in Totowa.”

While she was fleeing authorities, Gallo tossed out suspected drugs she had purchased from Feliciano, but a search of the area did not yield any discarded naracotic, Berdnik said.

Feliciano was charged with drug possession and possession with the intent to distribute near a school. Gallo was charged with obbstruction of a government function and destruction of evidence as well as eluding police.

The 2006 Toyota was seized by officers pending a forfeiture proceeding.

Feliciano and Gallo are scheduled to appear before a judge in the municipal court at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
