Two suspects including a 16-year-old have been brought into police custody over a July 19 weekend shooting on Park Avenue, according to the Paterson Police Department.

Police said the two suspects were arrested between July 31 and August 8 following an investigation by detectives of the Ceasefire Unit.

Daequan Owen, the first alleged shooter in the incident was apprehended by officers on July 31, after detectives Edgar Taylor and Rolando Polio identified the city man as the actor in the shooting that unfolded in the corner of Park Avenue and Carroll Street.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old city boy from his Northside home on Friday. The teen was connected to the shooting that left a 28-year-old city man with gunshot wounds to the leg, police said.

The victim of that shooting was with a group of people at the intersection at around 3:40 a.m. on July 19 when the two alleged suspects approached and fired at the group.

Police said the teen is being held in the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center awaiting a appearance. The teen has been charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession, police said.
