The city council is set to appropriate another $29,000 to continue its contract with a company that was hired to fill the vacancy left behind by then finance director Anthony Zambrano.

Council members approved a one-year contract with Professional Transitional Assistant, a Wanaque based consultancy, on July 1st, 2014, appropriating $29,000; however, that money has “almost been exhausted.”

The council is set to appropriate another $29,000 during its meeting Tuesday evening.

James Ten Hoeve, who heads the company, has formerly been the chief financial officer for Ridgewood in Bergen County for more than two decades. Ten Hoeve retired in 2010. Ridgewood’s governing body honored his service to the town by renaming its municipal complex in his name: James M. Ten Hoeve Plaza.

Ten Hoeve’s company is paid $75 per hour. The additional funding will allow the firm to continue to act as the city’s chief financial officer.

Zambrano announced his retirement days before mayor Jose “Joey” Torres was inaugurated for a third non-consecutive term.
