$50,000 paid out in slip and fall lawsuit

The city’s governing body on Tuesday evening approved $50,000 to settle a lawsuit brought forth by a woman, who fell and injured herself in the city’s 5th Ward.
Lori Swistak, who sustained injuries to the wrist during a slip and fall incident that occurred on November 17th, 2010, in the corner of Spring and Grand Streets. Swistak filed a complaint against the city in the Passaic County Superior Court.
Swistak’s suit was settled during a special meeting of the city council on Tuesday evening. Council members approved the settlement without any public discussion.
