Three people were arrested between last week and this Monday following an anti-drug surveillance operation in the area of North 5th and Clinton streets, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.
City resident Kadeem Coleman, 22, was arrested on Monday after concerned residents informed sheriff’s officers he was dealing drugs in the area.
Authorities setup surveillance of the area last week arresting two of Coleman’s buyers. The buyers Hope Rogers, 50, of Wayne, and Brian Roberts, of Bloomfield, were caught purchasing heroin from Coleman.
Rogers was found in possession of 10 glassine envelopes of heroin, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik said. Roberts was also found with 10 envelopes. Both have been charged with drug possession, Berdnik said.
“Coleman was found to be in possession of $755.00 in US currency which was seized as suspected narcotics proceeds,” Berdnik said. Coleman was charged with six drug offenses, authorities said.
Authorities found he had eight warrants in the amount of $4,000 out of city police. He was transported city police lockup awaiting bail on the new charges.
