Police investigate second city shooting of the day on Vreeland Avenue

A man was wounded in a shooting incident at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Vreeland Avenue on Wednesday afternoon marking the second city shooting within the last 24 hours.

The victim, whose details have not been released by police, was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Shots rang out outside a grocery store on 144 Vreeland Avenue at around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Police responded to the scene finding one victim.

Earlier in the day two men were wounded in a shooting incident inside the Riverview Towers at 145 Presidential Boulevard. Police responded to a dispute at the building at around 2:45 a.m. to find the two victims on the 9th floor hallway. Both were treated in hospital and released, according to police.

Witnesses reported a black male clad in all black was seen fleeing the area in a black Nissan truck.

Police have not released information about the second shooting.
