A short quality of life sweep in the city’s 2nd and 5th wards on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of four buyers, three suspected drug dealers, and the recovery of a handgun, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik.

Sheriff’s officers targeted the area of Mill Street between Grand and Slater streets in the 5th Ward and the area of Union and Rossiter avenues in the 2nd Ward from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Berdnik said during that four hours window authorities arrested three suspected drug dealers, Daquan Mingo, 20, of Paterson; Dominick Perez, 40, of Prospect Park; and Miguel Ponce, 18, of Paterson.

Suspected buyers arrested were Michael D. Worth, 28, of Cornwall, New York; Beau Black, 28, of Bloomindale; Joseph P. Ceccacci, 35, of Saddlebrook; Timothy Buniak, 18, of Dover.

Mingo and Worth were arrested on Main Street and Lackawanna at around 3:30 p.m. Mingo is charged with heroin possession with the intent to distribute and Worth is charged with heroin possession, Berdnik said.

Perez and Ceccacci were arrested on Rossiter and Union avenues, Berdnik said. Perez was nabbed by sheriff’s officers at around 5:20 p.m. and charged with Oxycodone pills possession, distribution, and distribution within 1,000 feet of a school.

Ceccacci was arrested in the same area at around the same time. Berdnik said Ceccacci is charged with Oxycodone possession.

Authorities said Ponce and Buniak were arrested on Mill and Slater streets at around 6:52 p.m. Berdnik said Ponce has been charged with heroin possession and intent to distribute.

Buniak is charged with marijuana possession, authorities said. Black was arrested on Chamberlain and Preakness avenues at 4:48 p.m., Berdnik said. Black is charged with Oxycodone pill posession.

Authorities also received a tip from a resident telling them there was a handgun placed in an empty lot on 12th Avenue and Williams Street. Authorities recovered a Smith & Wesson M&P .45cal handgun, Berdnik said.

“The PCSO will continue to enforce our quality of life laws,” Berdnik said. “The residents of Passaic County deserve to live in environment that dies include drug dealers and buyers.”
