An 18-year-old alleged drug dealer spotted counting his stash in the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard was quickly arrested by two plainclothes city police officers on Tuesday evening, said police director Jerry Speziale.

The suspected dealer Jaleel Adams, city resident, attempted to run into a chicken joint to hide from police officers Carlos Charon and Mike Sisco, but the suspect was quickly arrested.

Police recovered four bricks or 200 bags of heroin on Adams, said Speziale. The suspect was arrested at about 6:10 p.m. and charged with drug possession, and possession with the intent to distribute within a school zone.

“It’s unfortunate that this individual 18 years of age would engage in such behavior,” said Speziale. “Our narcotics division and undercover directed patrol units will continue to battle the streets and remove illegal drug dealers and buyers.”

“There’s a zero tolerance for this type of behavior,” said Speziale.
