A city resident studying biology at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware was the recipient of a scholarship named after Matthew C. Sellitto, a 23-year-old who perished during the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

The freshman student Marc Tremble received the $2,500 scholarship on March 18 during the college’s Founders Day. The scholarship is awarded through the Matthew C. Sellitto Memorial Fund which was established by Sellitto’s friends and family members to extend his legacy beyond his untimely death.

Sellitto was working for financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald in the 105th floor inside tower one when the hijacked planes crashed into the world trade towers. Sellitto’s family resides in New Jersey and he attended Seton Hall Preparatory School.

While at the prep school Sellitto volunteered with underprivileged urban youths as a mentor to encourage them to reach their highest potential. As a result of his passion to help others in need, Sellitto’s scholarship is awarded to inner city urban youths from underprivileged backgrounds.

Tremble graduated from the Passaic County Technical Institute.
